Psychotherapeutic Counselling for Parent - Child Relationships in Midhurst & Online

Psychotherapeutic Counsellor Specialising in Parent-child Relationships in Midhurst & Online

Hello, I'm Liliana Agafitei, a passionate advocate for nurturing healthy parent-child relationships. With over two decades of experience working with children and families, I am dedicated to supporting parents in understanding, developing, and strengthening their connections with their children.

My journey in parent-child support and care began in 2003 when working directly with private families. From here I transitioned to roles in nurseries, where I had the privilege of interacting with children and parents, gaining insights into the dynamics of family relationships. Throughout my career, I have always been driven by a deep curiosity about psychology and a desire to help others navigate life's challenges.

A Solid Foundation in Psychology

In 2012, I completed my Psychology Degree from A.I Cuza University, Romania.

On moving to The UK 20 years ago, my psychology degree laid the foundation for my career in psychotherapy.

This formal education, combined with my hands-on experience across two countries and cultures, has equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities of human behaviour and the factors that influence parent-child relationships.

Psychotherapy & Counseling Experience

Since 2014, I have been working with highly traumatised children in a psychotherapeutic community setting.

This invaluable experience has allowed me to address complex emotional and behavioural issues, helping children and families heal and grow.

Additionally, I've had the privilege of working with adults and young people at Chichester Counselling Services, Secondary and Primary schools across West Sussex providing support for a wide range of issues.

A Personal Perspective

As a mother of two children myself, I understand firsthand the joys and challenges of parenting. My personal experience, combined with my professional expertise, informs my approach to therapy and allows me to connect with parents on a deep, empathetic level.

Having spent 20 years in Romania and 20 years in the UK, I have first hand experience in the range of complexities adjusting to a new culture can bring. For families who may be struggling with managing their children’s behaviour and/or their own parental and personal expectations between two cultures, this is something I can help you navigate and nurture alongside you.
